India Energy Storage Alliance with 160+ member organisations is the leading alliance in energy storage, eMobility and green hydrogen technologies with a conviction that these emerging technologies can help India leapfrog for electric grid and e-mobility areas. IESA closely work with the 30+ global organisations, Indian central government and various states including Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Telangana for policy formation and market facilitation in this domain.

Odisha as an emerging state, IESA envision the requirement of state governments push for energy storage and eMobility sector in this state. IESA also see a huge opportunity for the various conglomerates and start-ups to start working in advanced battery and EV manufacturing opportunities in the state. There is also a huge opportunity for ancillary market, eMobility services and innovative business model to evolve in the state. With this context IESA is organising this event to bring all stakeholders to a single platform for the brainstorming and discuss the future plan and vision for the state in RE + energy storage, battery manufacturing and eMobility. This will be a unique platform to network amongst policymakers, government officials, think tanks, EV manufacturers, EV component provider, technology players, Li-Ion battery providers, R&D institutes and entrepreneurs. We expect 100+ key decision makers to join the event.

Recently, the India government announced the 50 GWh ACC battery manufacturing scheme, and we at IESA expect 6-8 battery Giga factories to come up in India in the next 2-4 years with or w/o central govt. subsidy. Apart from that we also expect various other companies to go for Niche ACC and set up other advanced battery technologies manufacturing units. IESA under its new initiative IBSCC (India Battery manufacturing & supply chain council, closely works with all leading stakeholders to support manufacturing, development of raw materials, chemical processing, and the supply chain ecosystem.

With MoP’s announcement of 4 GWh energy storage projects and upcoming energy storage policy, SECI, NTPC, and state governments like Gujarat Tamil Nadu, Kerala and others are coming up with energy storage projects for grid stability, renewable integration and stand-alone project. In the last 1 year, various support policies have come up in India to catalyse the growth of the energy storage industry. IESA is working with central and state government departments to create the energy storage target for India. Under IESA’s Beyond Batteries Initiative, IESA is also working with alternate storage technologies like a flywheel, CAES, Gravity Storage, Thermal Storage, etc for stationary applications.

With government policies for EV infra, Battery swapping and electric vehicle, India is growing with EV manufacturing and adoption. under IESA MOVE (Moving onwards vehicle Electrification) and EVAC (EV Adaptor Circle), IESA is working with various EV component manufacturers, EV OEMs, Charging infra companies and battery swapping companies and commercial establishments & industries to facilitate EV adoption. For the last few months EV space is catching attention for the wrong reasons like fire. IESA with BIS, UL, NITI Aayog and other stakeholders are working on this issue to create the appropriate testing framework, certification process and standards for India. Under IRRI (India Recycling and RE-Use Initiative), We at IESA also working on Recycling, second life, EPR, waste management policy and framework for India.

With new push for green hydrogen, through MIGHT initiative, IESA closely work with MNRE, NITI Aayog and various member companies for both stationary and mobility applications for green hydrogen. Under MICRO Initiative, We also working on sustainable microgrid and energy access space with various stakeholders.
