IESA in association with United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) organized a webinar on 8th Dec 2020 where UNIDO shared about the launch of "The Facility of Low Carbon Deployment" Innovation Challenge for the year 2020 with the vision to identify high-impact emerging Start-ups and thereby support them for technology validation and market access. This year onwards, Electrical Energy Storage has been recognized as an emerging sector for innovation and has been introduced as a vertical for the Innovation Challenge. The session delivered an introduction about the Innovation challenge, the eligibility criteria for Start-ups, the program objective and structure along with the benefits offered, its process for application of the challenge and its M&V process involved. UNIDO has initiated this project with an objective to address technology gaps through use of energy efficiency technologies and support the deployment and scale-up. The project is being implemented in collaboration with the Bureau of Energy of Efficiency (BEE) and is supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF).

The webinar on new member orientation and induction was scheduled today, 27 August from 3: 30 – 4: 30 PM IST. This webinar was conceptualized to familiarize new and existing members with various onboarding formalities, website login, working group meeting schedule, webinars, training programs, events and conference calendar, IESA product store, communication and outreach activities, and various other benefits including Storage IQ, Industry Reports and Knowledge Paper access.
In line with the Policy Working Group (PWG) meetings, a discussion was held on August 4, 2020, under the chairpersonship of Ms Bindu Madhavi, IESA and co-chairmanship of Mr Rahul Jain. Wherein, an elaborative discussion was carried out on the priorities enlisted during the first meeting of the PWG. Besides, various central and state level updates were discussed along with the IESA’s sectoral communication with different ministries/ departments.
