IESA letter to MNRE to issue a clarification on the applicability of IS 16046 for Stationary Battery Storage.

IESA submitted a lette to Ministry of New & Renewable Energy to issues a clarification on the applicability of IS 16046 for Stationary Storage Battery. As per the Customs clearance process, the customs officials in India examine the BIS certification, i.e., IS 16046 part 1 & Part 2 on the import of batteries. As per BIS circular Ref: CMD-III/16: IS 16046, 11 March 2019, BIS revised the IS 16046 certification, this standard is not applicable to for stationary battery storage system. As this information not documented with custom department, it is requested to issue clarification on it's applicability for stationary battery storage.
