Accelerating EV Adoption: Future of Fast Charging
India's electric vehicle (EV) market is growing at a rapid pace, with over 2 million EVs registered in 2024 alone. A robust reliable and sustainable charging network plays an important role in supporting EV adoption. Increasing EV adoption highlights an urgent need for efficient and easily available charging infrastructure to reduce waiting times and address range anxiety. Recognizing this need Government has launched the PM EDRIVE scheme and identified 40 cities and 60 highway corridors for deploying high-powered charging stations.
PM EDRIVE scheme allocates ₹2,000 crore to incentivize installation of public EV charging stations (EVPCS). It aims to establish 22,100 fast chargers for electric four-wheelers, 1,800 fast chargers for e-buses, and 48,400 fast chargers for two- and three-wheelers.
This summit on ‘Accelerating EV Adoption: Future of Fast Charging’ will explore latest fast-charging technologies, global trends, installation best practices, and the opportunities and challenges shaping India's EV infrastructure.
