New Delhi: Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani announced that the company’s New Energy Initiative will commence operations in Bengal by the end of 2025. Speaking at the 8th Bengal Global Business Summit 2025, Ambani stated that Reliance aims to make India a global hub for clean and green energy, with Bengal playing a key role.

Reliance has invested over ₹50,000 crore in West Bengal, marking a twenty-fold increase since 2016. The company’s investments have created over one lakh direct jobs in the state. Ambani said, “Mamata Didi, we shall double this investment by the end of this decade.”

Jio’s network now covers 100 per cent of Bengal’s population, and the company is building Bengal's first cable landing station in Digha, which will be operational early next year. An AI-ready data centre is being set up in Kolkata, expected to be completed within nine months.

Reliance Retail operates 1,300 stores across the state and plans to expand to 1,700 stores in the next three years. The company manages over 2.2 million square feet of warehouse space in Bengal. Under its Swadesh initiative, Reliance Retail is working to promote Bengal’s traditional handloom and handicrafts at a global level.

Reliance Foundation is collaborating with the West Bengal government for the renovation of Kalighat Temple. Ambani said, “Mamata Didi, I have to thank you personally for giving us this opportunity to serve.”

Encouraging investors to consider Bengal, Ambani said, “Reliance has had a wonderful experience of doing business in this state. With Didi at the helm, the business community receives a red-carpet treatment in Bengal.”

Ambani reiterated the company’s commitment to the state, stating, “Your Bengal is our Bengal. Please count on us.”
