Bharat Battery Show part of Bharat Mobility Global Expo ( Exhibition on Battery & Charging )
India is leapfrogging electric mobility adoption with more than 1 million sales in the last year. With the combined efforts of various ministries including the Ministry of Power, Ministry of Road and Transport & Highways, and Ministry of Heavy Industries, the Indian EV infrastructure sector is also growing to support this adoption. India already has more than 10,000 public charging stations, and 100,000 swappable batteries in the ecosystem helping the industries to grow to the next phase. According to IESA’s analysis and Annual EV Market report, the EV charging sector has a potential of 37% annual growth and the battery swapping industry has a growth rate of 45% year-on-year basis. Many global charging infra and battery swapping companies entered the Indian market and Indian conglomerates diversified to the charging infrastructure business in past years. Many startups have entered the CPO business or charging station manufacturing and battery swapping operating business in the past 10 years. With the support from EESL, BEE, and various state governments, charging infra and battery swapping infrastructure has grown significantly.
