IESA had organized the “India Battery Manufacturing & Supply Chain Summit” on December 9 in Delhi where India Battery Supply Chain Council (IBSCC) was launched. IBSCC will serve as a common platform for all relevant stakeholders to work on the complete development of the battery supply chain needed to support upcoming giga factories in India. 

IBSCC currently includes 10+ core companies, namely, BASF, Epsilon Advanced Materials Pvt Ltd, Himadri Speciality Chemical Ltd., Atotech Group, Applied Materials, MacDermid Alpha Electronics Solutions, Lucas TVS, 24M Technologies, Fortum Recycling & Waste, Neogen Chemicals Limited, Bry-Air (Asia) Private Limited, Bry-Air Inc., Ador Digatron Pvt. Ltd, Keysight Technologies, Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited, Schaltbau India, Manikaran Group, SUEZ - Water Technologies & Solutions, and Customized Energy Solutions.


- IESA organized IBSCC’s first stakeholder’s meet on Thursday, December 2, outlining its goals, vision, and plan of action for the months ahead.

- The India Battery Manufacturing & Supply Chain summit was attended by close to 150 members and hosted eminent industry leaders, think tanks, scholars, and policymakers including Tim White, Counsellor Commercial, Trade and Investment Commissioner, Australian High Commission, New Delhi; Randheer Singh, Sr. Specialist & Director, NITI Aayog; V. K. Soni, Head of Projects, Gujarat Fluorochemicals Limited; Vikram Handa, Managing Director, Epsilon Carbon, Dr. K. Ramesha, Senior Principal Scientist & Professor, CSIR – CECRI; Dr. Tata Narasinga Rao, Director (Additional Charge), International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy & New Materials (ARCI) and Sandeep Tandon, National Program Manager, FLCTD, UNIDO among others. The discussions at the summit ranged from a talk on ACC PLI Program, supply chain requirement for advanced battery Gigafactories in India, battery manufacturing supply chain: raw materials processing, equipment, and manufacturing process and new research & innovation in energy storage, recycling, and urban mining.
