Webinar on EV components

The automobile market in India is at a cusp of paradigm shift from internal combustion engine vehicles to zero-emission vehicles owing to the deteriorating air quality in various cities and the country’s excessive dependency on crude oil imports. Electric vehicles are becoming more popular in the current scenario as they promise zero tailpipe emissions and a reduction in air pollution in cities. An electric vehicle mainly consists of a battery, motor, motor controller, power inverter and an onboard charger. Further, unlike ICE vehicles, there are very fewer moving parts in an EV as compared to 2000+ moving parts in an ICE vehicle. When it comes to battery, then lithium-ion technology is currently dominating the market.

The government of India has provided significant momentum to the sales of EVs in India through the implementation of the FAME India scheme. Last year, after the implementation of phased manufacturing program for EV’s, OEMs are currently investing heavily in securing their supply chain locally. This webinar will mainly focus on the manufacturing of EV components in the country and the readiness of the EV supply chain.
